Coconut Apricot Wax vs. Soy Wax
Soy is the wax most candles use because it's cheap, but it has a lower ceiling for fragrance. Coconut apricot also runs at a slightly higher melt point, roughly 120–130°F versus soy's 120°F, and tends to burn longer per ounce.

Why Does My Candle Have a White Film? (Frosting, Explained Honestly)
You may notice a faint white, crystalline film on the surface of your candle over time. This is called "frosting," and it's a natural characteristic of plant-based waxes — the wax's natural oils recrystallizing as the candle ages or moves through temperature changes. It does not affect scent or burn quality in any way.
Frosting shows up more in pure plant waxes than in blends that include paraffin, because paraffin interrupts that crystallization. Since OBC's wax is paraffin-free by choice — we'd rather keep the ingredient list clean than chase a "perfect" surface — frosting is something you may see from time to time. It's a sign of a real, natural wax, not a flaw.
(One thing frosting is sometimes confused with: a cloudy patch where the wax meets the glass. That's usually a "wet spot" — a separate, equally harmless effect from the wax cooling and pulling slightly away from the container. Neither one is a defect.)

Getting the Most Out of It at Home
First burn: Let the melt pool reach the edges of the jar before putting it out — usually 2–4 hours depending on the jar. This sets the memory ring and is the single biggest thing that prevents tunneling.
Trim the wick before every burn — but the amount depends on the wick: ¼ inch for cotton wicks, ⅛ inch for wooden wicks. For wooden wicks, make sure to remove all the charred black wood entirely; leaving too much char can cause the candle to self-extinguish shortly after lighting.
Burn in sessions of 2–4 hours. Longer than that generates excess heat that can affect the wax and the fragrance.
For the strongest scent throw, burn in a smaller, enclosed space rather than an open room.
Keep it out of direct sunlight. UV exposure breaks down fragrance oil over time, even before the candle's been lit once.
